THE HARDSTAFF GROUP WINS COACHING FOR HIGH GROWTH “BUSINESS OF THE YEAR”
Nottingham 22nd June – The Hardstaff Group, global leaders in the design, development and supply of low carbon dual fuel vehicle technologies that significantly reduce the carbon footprint in the road transport sector, are pleased to announce that they have won the Coaching for High Growth “Business of the Year”.
Over the last 12 months, Hardstaff has taken part in the Coaching for High Growth scheme, which aims to help ambitious businesses in the East Midlands to expand their bottom line through a tailored package of intensive coaching. The initiative is majority funded by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and run by Melton-Mowbray-based innovation and support organisation Pera.
The Hardstaff Group impressed the judges with its success to date and growth prospects. It beat off stiff competition from a total of 27 other entries to win the Business of the Year award, in recognition of the business that has made most progress during its year on the programme.
Managing Director, Trevor Fletcher received the Business of the Year award trophy from Michael Seals, emda’s board member with responsibility for business support and the Managing Director of Pera’s training and consulting division, Richard Grice, in front of Hardstaff employees at the company’s office.
Trevor Fletcher commented “It is a massive achievement to be named the winner of the Coaching for High Growth awards’ Business of the Year – it is a real testament to the hard work of the team which developed our dual fuel product. We provide an affordable and green solution to the problem of growing diesel prices, by switching customers’ road transport fleets to run on natural gas and renewable biomethane. Pera’s training is making a huge difference, helping to transform us from a traditional haulage business into a world class advanced combustion technology company. We plan to grow our business globally over the next ten years, increasing our current turnover of £20m to £200m which will mean taking on significant numbers of new staff.”
Michael Seals, emda’s board member with responsibility for business support and one of the three Coaching for High Growth awards judges added: “The Hardstaff Group’s high quality entry stood out as the Business of the Year winner as it is clearly an innovative company which shows huge potential for growth.”
As part of the growth, The Hardstaff Group are pleased to announce the opening of Hardstaff AB, a new company set up to install the Hardstaff Dual Fuel Technology onto new Volvo vehicles. Located in Gothenburg Sweden, Hardstaff AB is situated in a new 2700sqm production plant, only five minutes drive from the Volvo headquarters and the main harbour. There are nine employees currently at this production plant, however as demand increases and the business grows the company hopes to recruit new employees.
