The Hardstaff Group founded in 1861, provides a diverse range of services to the road transport and allied industries, and specialises in low carbon vehicle technologies. Throughout our many years of experience we have been constantly driven by an inherent pursuit of excellence to facilitate and supply only the highest quality products and services. We maintain optimum levels of legal and professional integrity in all industry matters and recognise our responsibility in managing safety, health and environment matters as an integral part of our business.

We are committed to fulfilling our social obligations and ensuring continual improvement by:

  • Supplying our customers with products and services that conform or exceed their requirement;
  • Complying with all applicable legal, regulatory, internal, industry and other requirements;
  • Preventing pollution and protecting the environment;
  • Preventing injury and illness to employees, contractors, visitors, members of the public and others affected by our activities;
  • Researching and developing technologies, products and services that are sustainable with regard to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)

We will achieve this by:

  • Setting objectives and targets and reviewing progress to measure SHEQ standards acceptable to the Hardstaff Group, ensuring the necessary resources, including financial resources, are made available to help us fulfill those targets;
  • Ensuring we effectively assess risks and apply measures to control them;
  • Encouraging our suppliers and contractors to comply with SHEQ standards acceptable to the Hardstaff Group;
  • Sharing our knowledge and experience in safety, health and care for the environment;
  • Communicating SHEQ information across the organisation ensuring all employees understand their responsibilities;
  • Providing education and training to support compliance with this policy and improve SHEQ awareness;
  • Regularly auditing and reviewing the management system for continuing suitability, identifying where we could do better and implementing improvement plans;
  • Maintaining open communication with our local community and stakeholders;
  • Managing our SHEQ activities in accordance with ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and the Highway Sector Scheme Document 2B.

This policy is a key part of our overall strategy; it will be reviewed at least once a year by the executive management team ensuring it remains in line with our objectives.
